Steven Yeun, known for his roles in 'The Walking Dead' and 'Invincible', has been confirmed to play the character Sentry in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film 'Thunderbolts'.
The confirmation came from Robert Kirkman, creator of 'Invincible' and 'The Walking Dead', during a conversation with artist David Finch.
Sentry, a character first introduced in Marvel Comics in 2000, is a superhero with the 'power of a million exploding suns' and a complex backstory involving his nemesis, The Void.
Yeun's casting as Sentry has sparked some controversy on social media due to the character being traditionally white in the comics, while Yeun is of Korean descent.
'Thunderbolts' is slated for release in July 2025 and will also star Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, and others.
