Sternsinger Campaign 2025 Kicks Off Across Germany
Thousands of children dressed as the Three Wise Men begin their annual fundraising efforts for global child welfare projects.
- The 67th annual Dreikönigssingen (Three Kings Singing) campaign has officially begun, with children collecting donations for international child welfare initiatives.
- In Berlin, Archbishop Heiner Koch held a service at St. Hedwig's Cathedral, sending over 300 children and youth from the Berlin Archdiocese to participate in the tradition.
- The campaign, organized by the Kindermissionswerk and the Bund der Deutschen Katholischen Jugend (BDKJ), operates under the theme 'Raise Your Voice! Sternsingen for Children's Rights.'
- Participants, dressed as the biblical Magi, visit homes to sing, collect donations, and bless doors with the inscription 'C+M+B,' symbolizing 'Christus mansionem benedicat' ('Christ bless this house').
- The 2024 campaign raised nearly €46 million, and since its inception in 1959, the initiative has generated approximately €1.36 billion for global education, health, and child protection programs.
