Sternsinger 2026 Moves Across Germany With Local Records and Flexible Formats

Donations flow to anti–child labour projects coordinated by the Kindermissionswerk with BDKJ oversight.

Overview

  • The 68th Dreikönigssingen runs 2–6 January under the motto “School instead of factory — Sternsingen against child labour,” organized nationally by the Kindermissionswerk and the BDKJ.
  • In Twistringen about 180 children and group leaders went house to house in 37 groups, covering every address despite snow and a shortage of group leaders.
  • In Bergkamen-Rünthe, Herz-Jesu teams visited roughly 100 registered households in freezing conditions, while St. Clemens offered a walk-up “Segen to go” tent.
  • Harpstedt’s teams reached 84 households and set a new local record with €2,461.57 collected in an ecumenically organized effort.
  • In Oberhausen, parish groups collected at public sites and are scheduled to visit city hall on 5 January, with last year’s local total at €108,000 and donations earmarked for education, health, nutrition, child protection and related projects.
