Stephen Curry's 34 Points Propel Warriors to 120-109 Victory Over Pistons

Dominant performance from the Warriors with 26-10 second-chance points advantage; Pistons struggle with seven players out due to injury and illness.

  • Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors to a 120-109 victory over the Detroit Pistons with a dominant 34 points in the game. His impressive score was a significant contributor to the Warrior's wins through the strategy of attacking the offensive glass, securing an impressive 26-10 advantage in second-chance points.
  • The Warriors were not the only ones to shine in the match. Klay Thompson and Chris Paul each added 17 points for the Warriors, bolstering their solid lead throughout the game. Especially noteworthy was Paul, who rebounded from a 31.7% floor shooting ratio with a 6-9, including 2-3 in 3-point attempts.
  • Despite being undermanned due to several of their players being out due to illness and injury, the Pistons put up a fight. Players Cade Cunningham and Killian Hayes managed to match the scores of Thompson and Paul with 21 points each, and Stanley Umude had a career-high of 15 points.
  • The Pistons trailed by eight at halftime, but rallied to briefly take an 80-74 edge with back-to-back 3-pointers by Umude late in the third quarter. But the Warriors quickly regained the advantage with an 83-82 at the end of the period, aided significantly by their 12-18 second-chance shots.
  • Down the stretch, the game remained fairly competitive, with the Pistons trailing by just two at 105-103 with 4:44 remaining. Curry, however, closed out the game with a consecutive four-point run, solidifying the Warriors' victory over the Pistons.
