Oliver Ziegenbalg, known for 'The Billion Dollar Code' and 'Russendisko,' has acquired the rights and will direct and produce the film.
Schäfer, a former media executive and one-time tennis athlete, published the novel in spring 2024, achieving immediate bestseller status.
The book tells the story of a stressed manager who finds new perspectives on life during conversations with a rural farmer over a weekend.
Schäfer will not be involved in writing the screenplay but expressed interest in observing the filmmaking process without intervening.
