Steph Fretwell Retires After Decorated 11-Year Netball Career

  • The 33-year-old captured World Cup and Commonwealth Games gold medals with the Australian Diamonds and secured Suncorp Super Netball titles with Sunshine Coast Lightning in 2017 and 2018.
  • She concluded her career with 56 national caps and was renowned for her signature ‘step-back shot’, including a recent game-winning display against the NSW Swifts.
  • Originally debuting with the NSW Swifts, Fretwell became the Lightning’s first signing in 2016 and led the side to three consecutive Super Netball finals as captain.
