Steph Curry Honored with J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award for Community Service
- Stephen Curry was awarded the 2022-23 J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award by the Professional Basketball Writers Association for his outstanding service to the community.
- Through his Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, Curry has helped thousands of children in Oakland by hosting community events, providing meals, building playgrounds, and promoting literacy.
- Curry was also named a finalist for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion award for using his platform to advocate for equality in sports.
- In the 2022-23 season, Curry averaged 29.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game and was named an All-Star and All-NBA selection for the ninth time.
- The Citizenship Award recognizes an NBA player for outstanding service and dedication to the community.
