Stenshagen Wins Toblach 10km as Korosteliev Places Ninth in Russians’ Limited Return

FIS has cleared only a few Russians to race under neutral status after a CAS ruling.

Overview

  • Norway’s Mattis Stenshagen won the 10 km classical individual start in 22:11.0, with Johannes Klæbo second at +8.9 and Emil Iversen third at +10.1.
  • Russia’s Saveliy Korosteliev, newly eligible to compete, finished ninth in 22:50.6 at the Tour de Ski stage in Toblach, Italy.
  • The race counted toward the fourth stage of the FIS Cross-Country World Cup within the multi-day Tour de Ski.
  • On December 2, the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled FIS’s earlier ban on Russian and Belarusian athletes unlawful, and FIS accepted the decision with a neutral-status requirement.
  • So far, only Darya Nepryayeva and Saveliy Korosteliev have been approved to compete internationally, with a women’s 10 km classical race later Monday and the Tour de Ski set to conclude on January 4.
