Overview

• A new Peugeot E-3008 on the STLA Medium platform is the first fully functional vehicle fitted with the Integrated Battery Intelligent System now undergoing road testing.
• Project data claim up to a 10% energy‑efficiency gain, a 15% power increase to 172 kW from 150 kW, about 40 kg less mass, up to 17 liters of freed volume, and roughly 15% shorter fast‑charge times.
• The IBIS architecture performs energy conversion in the pack, delivering AC or DC directly to the motor or the grid while supplying the vehicle’s 12V systems.
• The program is a collaborative effort between Stellantis and Saft with support from E2‑CAD, Sherpa Engineering, CNRS, Université Paris‑Saclay, and Institut Lafayette under France 2030 funding since June 2025.
• Stellantis says production integration could come by the end of the decade if real‑world results validate the gains, with potential applications beyond automotive under evaluation.
