Overview
- Stellantis has begun contacting UK owners of roughly 72,000 vehicles across Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Jeep, Peugeot and Vauxhall for a voluntary safety recall.
- The campaign targets 28 models built between 2023 and 2025 equipped with 1.2-litre turbo petrol engines that may leak fuel from loosened high-pressure pipe nuts.
- Dealers will retighten the nut connections and rail screws in under 30 minutes at no cost, and owners are being urged to book appointments immediately.
- The move follows 11 reported engine fires in France and adds to Stellantis’s series of safety actions, including a June stop-drive order for Takata-airbag-equipped Citroën C3 and DS3 models.
- Which? and UK safety regulators are monitoring Stellantis’s recall rollout and pressing the company on repair backlogs, mobility disruptions and compensation for affected drivers.
