Overview

  • Stellantis has begun notifying owners of more than 750,000 Peugeot, Citroën, Opel/Vauxhall, DS and Fiat vehicles produced from October 2017 to January 2023.
  • The recall targets premature wear or breakage of the 1.5 BlueHDi camshaft chain, which can cause abnormal engine noise or sudden failure.
  • Owners will receive over-the-air software updates and on-site oil-change interventions alongside a special repairer app that analyses engine noise to spot chain issues.
  • A new warranty covers 100 percent of parts and labour costs for eligible repairs up to 10 years or 240,000 kilometres, retroactive from January 2023 through June 2025.
  • Stellantis reports no known accidents or injuries tied to the defect and says the proactive campaign follows heightened regulatory scrutiny of diesel-engine reliability.
