Overview
- On July 3, Stellantis announced a voluntary Europe-wide recall of about 636,000 diesel vehicles from Fiat, Peugeot, Citroën, DS and Opel equipped with 1.5 Blue HDi engines built between 2017 and 2023.
- The phased campaign prioritises older models and begins with owner notifications and scheduled appointments at authorised dealers.
- Technicians will deploy software updates, perform oil replacements when needed and use a proprietary noise-analysis application to detect premature camshaft chain wear.
- Vehicles found with chain wear will receive a full shaft-chain replacement covered at no cost to customers up to ten years or 240,000 kilometres.
- A dedicated reimbursement portal for past repairs will launch in mid-July, with Stellantis reporting no accidents or injuries linked to the defect.
