Stellantis Kills All-Electric Ram 1500 REV, Rebrands Range-Extended Pickup for 2026

Stellantis says slowing U.S. demand for large electric trucks prompted the shift.

Overview

  • Stellantis confirmed it has ended development of the full-size battery-electric Ram 1500 after repeated delays from an initial 2024 target to later dates.
  • The REV name now moves to the range-extended model formerly called Ramcharger, which pairs a 92 kWh battery with a 3.6-liter V6 generator and dual electric motors.
  • Ram targets up to about 690 miles of combined range and roughly 145 miles of electric-only driving, with output up to 647 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque.
  • Production of the range-extended Ram 1500 REV is expected in 2026, with pricing and final specifications to be announced closer to launch.
  • The move leaves Stellantis without a full-size BEV pickup competitor to Ford’s F-150 Lightning and Chevrolet’s Silverado EV as it revises electrification plans in response to market and policy changes.
