Overview

  • Stellantis confirmed it has discontinued development of a full-size battery-electric Ram 1500 and said it is reassessing its truck strategy.
  • The range-extended model formerly called Ramcharger will carry the Ram 1500 REV name with a 92 kWh battery, a 3.6-liter V6 generator, dual motors, and up to about 690 miles of combined range.
  • Ram lists output up to 647 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque, with roughly 145 miles of electric-only driving cited by the company.
  • The REEV pickup is expected to launch in 2026, with pricing to be announced; some outlets report an anticipated starting price near $75,000.
  • The cancellation follows repeated delays to the BEV once touted with 168 kWh and 229 kWh battery options, and comes alongside Stellantis leadership changes and broader industry pullbacks as incentives fade and EV truck sales slow.
