Overview

  • Around 141,700 vehicles in Germany across five Stellantis brands are being recalled over a potential timing chain defect in their 1.5-liter BlueHDi diesel engines.
  • Stellantis is contacting owners by letter or email in priority waves, beginning with older models, to schedule free workshop appointments.
  • Technicians use an app to analyze engine noise and then perform software updates, oil changes and timing chain replacements as needed.
  • Owners receive a ten-year or 240,000-kilometer warranty extension and can claim retrospective reimbursement for qualifying past repairs.
  • The voluntary campaign is not recorded in the KBA database and, according to Stellantis, no accidents or injuries have been reported to date.
