Stellantis and Samsung SDI Plan Second US Battery Plant, Boosting Capacity to 67 GWh Annually

Stellantis and Samsung SDI announcing plans for a second battery plant in the US, in addition to their existing Kokomo, Indiana facility.
The new plant will have an initial capacity of 34 GWh and target production in early 2027.
The Kokomo plant capacity has increased 43% to 33 GWh annually, for a total of 67 GWh from the two US plants.
Stellantis aims to offer 25 new battery electric vehicles in North America by end of decade.
The automaker plans for 50% of its US sales to be electric vehicles by 2030.
