Stellantis and Samsung SDI announce second $3.2B EV battery plant in Indiana, adding 1,400 jobs

Stellantis and Samsung SDI will invest $3.2 billion in a new EV battery plant in Kokomo, Indiana.
The plant is expected to start production in early 2027 and will have an annual capacity of 67 GWh.
Construction is already underway on the first joint battery plant in Kokomo, which is set to open in 2025.
The two factories will create a total of 2,800 new jobs in Indiana.
Stellantis aims to sell 5 million EVs annually by 2030, with 50% of its North American sales being battery electric.
