Stellantis and Leapmotor Partner to Launch Chinese EVs in Europe

New joint venture aims to leverage Stellantis' distribution network to introduce affordable electric vehicles across multiple regions.

Sales of Leapmotor EVs will begin in Europe in September 2024, starting with nine countries.
The joint venture, Leapmotor International, is headquartered in Amsterdam and led by Tianshu Xin.
Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares criticized U.S. tariffs on Chinese EVs, calling them protectionist.
The partnership plans to expand to other markets including the Middle East, Africa, and South America by late 2024.
Leapmotor's models will be priced under €20,000, targeting budget-conscious consumers.
