Stefanie Hertel hat einen weiteren Schicksalsschlag erlitten. Ihre Schwägerin Ines ist im Alter von 51 Jahren an Krebs gestorben. Die Sängerin hatte ein enges Verhältnis zu der Ehefrau ihres Bruders und reiste oft nach Oelsnitz, um ihr beizustehen. Die Beisetzung fand im kleinen Kreis statt. Bereits ein Jahr zuvor hatte Hertel ihren Vater Eberhard verloren.
