Steelton Shooting: Warrant Issued for Quadir Rameau as Schools Close for the Week

Investigators cite surveillance footage, a surviving brother's identification in naming the suspect.

Overview

  • Kenyatta Henry, 26, was killed at the Phoenix Mini Mart around 2:15 p.m. on Oct. 7, and his brother was shot in the arm and treated at Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital.
  • An arrest warrant charges 23-year-old Quadir Rameau with first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and firearms offenses, and he remains at large.
  • Police from about 10 agencies responded, recovered several 9 mm casings at the scene, and later reported finding 9 mm ammunition during a search of Rameau’s home.
  • Court documents say video shows a man firing a dark-colored handgun at the brothers, and the wounded brother told police he knew Rameau.
  • Steelton-Highspire schools first shifted to remote instruction, then announced closures through Friday, with classes slated to resume Tuesday after Monday’s holiday.
