Steelers Sign Veteran Safety Juan Thornhill to One-Year Deal

The former Browns and Chiefs player brings experience and depth to Pittsburgh's secondary for the 2025 season.

Juan Thornhill, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs, has signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers addressed a key need for safety depth, as Thornhill is expected to serve as the No. 3 safety behind Minkah Fitzpatrick and Deshon Elliott.
Thornhill has consistently started games throughout his NFL career, with at least eight starts in each of his six seasons.
During the 2024 season with the Cleveland Browns, Thornhill recorded 49 tackles, one tackle for loss, one quarterback hit, and three pass defenses.
The financial terms of Thornhill's contract have not been disclosed, and trade rumors surrounding Minkah Fitzpatrick add uncertainty to Pittsburgh's secondary.
