Steam Train Delivers Gromit Sculptures to Bristol Ahead of Summer Trail

Unveiling on June 30, the trail features 53 sculptures installed across Bristol with all proceeds funding The Grand Appeal.

Overview

  • Nick Park drove a steam train carrying the first batch of Gromit sculptures into the city’s harbourside as preparations ramp up.
  • Sir Paul McCartney’s Yellow Submarine sculpture arrived alongside designs inspired by Vengeance Most Fowl and created with Roald Dahl, DreamWorks, Netflix, Pixar and Lucasfilm.
  • Organisers will position the artworks at landmarks including M Shed harbour, Underfall Yard and aboard the Pyronaut fire boat before the public launch.
  • An official Gromit Unleashed 3 app and a printed map will be available from June 30 to help visitors track locations, unlock rewards and access sculpture details.
  • All 53 sculptures will go to auction in October to benefit The Grand Appeal, extending a fundraising legacy that has raised more than £20 million since 2013.
