Overview
- Windows 10 32-bit is the only 32-bit Windows version Steam still supports, and it accounts for 0.01% of systems in Valve’s August 2025 Hardware Survey.
- Existing Steam clients on Windows 10 32-bit will keep running for the near term but will receive no updates, including security fixes, and won’t be eligible for technical support.
- Steam on Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11 remains supported, and 32-bit games will continue to run after the cutoff.
- Future Steam client releases will be 64-bit only due to dependencies on system components not available in 32-bit environments.
- Valve urges remaining 32-bit users to upgrade, a shift that follows Steam’s 2024 sunset of Windows 7/8/8.1 and aligns with Microsoft ending Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025.
