Statewide Manhunt Launched for Suspect in Texas Police Chief Shooting

Authorities have issued a Blue Alert for Seth Altman, wanted for the attempted capital murder of Memphis Police Chief Rex Plant.

The incident occurred late Thursday when Chief Rex Plant was shot multiple times while attempting to arrest Seth Altman on a burglary charge.
Chief Plant was transported to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
Seth Altman, 33, is described as a white male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 220 pounds, with red hair and blue eyes.
The Blue Alert system, similar to Amber Alerts, was activated to facilitate the quick apprehension of suspects who pose a threat to law enforcement.
Residents are advised not to approach Altman, as he is considered armed and dangerous, and to contact authorities with any information.
