States Mark Birsa Munda’s 150th: Lucknow Festival Opens as Gujarat Prepares Nov. 15 National Event

The commemoration links cultural showcases to announced Gujarat projects worth over Rs 8,400 crore.

  • Uttar Pradesh opened a six-day Janjati Bhagidari Utsav in Lucknow on November 13 at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
  • The Lucknow programme features a cultural procession, a Tribal Crafts Fair, performances by more than 600 artists from 18 states, exhibitions, and a ‘Jevnaar’ food festival running through November 18.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to preside over the national ceremony in Dediapada, Narmada district, on November 15, where he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects exceeding Rs 8,400 crore across Gujarat.
  • Gujarat’s fortnight of activities includes two Janjatiya Gaurav Yatras through 14 tribal districts with about six lakh participants, 82 health camps and 51 Seva Setu camps, culminating at Ekta Nagar on November 13.
  • Alongside the celebrations, Yogi Adityanath cited filled Scheduled Tribe quotas in a 7,244-constable recruitment, over 1.5 lakh student scholarships and land rights for more than 23,000 families, while MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted statewide programmes on November 15 and noted that 21% of the state’s population is tribal.
