Overview
- Prosecutors on July 23 indicted 39-year-old Aaron Henderson on assault, unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child for the incident at Park Hill’s 195 Steuben Street building.
- Authorities say Henderson, the girl’s uncle who has autism, was taken for a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation and declared competent to stand trial.
- The one-year-old was allegedly placed in the trash chute at around 3:15 p.m. on Monday and fell to the first floor before being located.
- Her parents heard her cries, broke open the basement chute door to rescue her and she was treated at Staten Island University Hospital North Campus.
