Overview
- A cluster of attacks over the Easter weekend struck party offices in Flensburg — including CDU, SPD, Greens, Left and SSW — with the SPD’s state office in Kiel also hit.
- Walls were painted with Germany flags and stickers, a Green office window broke, and police reported Molotov cocktail residue with only superficial fire damage and low four-figure losses.
- Additional attempts followed in the night to Tuesday against SPD, Greens and Left sites, and no arrests or injuries had been reported as investigations continued.
- The Staatsschutz, a police unit focused on political crime, opened cases for attempted arson and politically motivated property damage.
- Separately near Leipzig, a CDU office in Markkleeberg was tagged with “Kriegstreiber” and hit by paint-filled bottles, with police logging about €300 in damage and launching an inquiry.
