State Police Identify 3 Killed in Head-On Crash on Route 11 in Franklin County

Investigators are probing why a southbound sedan crossed into the northbound lane on Molly Pitcher Highway.

  • The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 6500 block of Route 11 in Greene Township, north of Chambersburg.
  • State police say a southbound 2006 Lincoln Zephyr crossed the center turning lane and hit a northbound tractor-trailer head-on.
  • The victims were identified as driver Saintanie Jean Baptiste, 47, and passengers Jodelens Joseph, 42, both of Chambersburg, and Claire M. Elveus, 30, of Lauderhill, Florida.
  • All three in the sedan were pronounced dead at the scene, and the tractor-trailer driver had a possible injury and was not transported by EMS.
  • Route 11 was closed for several hours for investigation and cleanup before reopening, and the cause remains under investigation with more details expected later.
