State Pension Payments Back on Normal February Schedule, DWP Confirms

With no February bank holidays, dates follow the usual National Insurance-number pattern.

Overview

  • The Department for Work and Pensions pays the State Pension every four weeks directly into recipients' bank accounts.
  • Payment days are set by the final two digits of the National Insurance number: 00–19 Monday, 20–39 Tuesday, 40–59 Wednesday, 60–79 Thursday, and 80–99 Friday.
  • January payment timings were adjusted due to the New Year's Day bank holiday, but no such changes apply this month.
  • For new claimants, the first payment arrives no later than five weeks after the chosen start date, with a partial payment possible before the first full one.
  • The full new State Pension is £230.25 per week and rises each year by whichever is highest of earnings growth, inflation, or 2.5%.
