Several European leaders, including European Council President Charles Michel, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde, attended the ceremony.
Delors' death comes six months before the EU holds European parliament elections, during which eurosceptics are expected to make record gains.
