Overview
- The contest drew a record 76 entries in June from concessionaires with at least one prior year at the State Fair.
 - On July 2 organizers announced the 30 semifinalists showcasing diverse sweet and savory fried dishes.
 - Semifinalist creations range from Brisket and Brew Stuffed Pretzels to Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake.
 - A panel of judges will evaluate entries at Fair Park based on fairgoer appeal, creativity and taste.
 - Finalists for Best Sweet, Best Savory and Most Creative will be selected in mid-August.
