State Department Secures 59,000 Tons of Food Aid for Delivery After Destroying Expired Supplies

The department accounted for all food expiring before October 2026 under tightened congressional oversight after reporting that less than 1% of its annual aid had been destroyed.

Overview

  • State Department destroyed 500 metric tons of high-energy biscuits stored in Dubai because they had expired and could no longer be safely distributed.
