- Effective October 2025, adult passport books cost $130 and cards $30, while minor books cost $100 and cards $15, with a $35 acceptance fee charged only for in-person applications.
- Renewals submitted by mail or online are not assessed the acceptance fee, though base renewal fees match first-time issuance costs.
- Payments must be made by check or money order payable to the U.S. Department of State, and electronic payments are not accepted for these services.
- Standard processing is 4–6 weeks, expedited service costs an additional $60 for 2–3 week processing, and optional express shipping is $22.05.
- First-time and in-person applicants use Form DS-11, mail renewals use DS-82, and minors generally must appear with both parents or legal guardians, with notarized DS-3053 consent required if one cannot attend.
