Overview
- Investigators with the Estado de México prosecutor’s office detained Christian Jesús “N”, the sixth councilor of Chalco known as “Gimmy” or “Jimy”, under an arrest warrant during the second phase of Operación Caudal.
- Authorities identify him as the leader of the Sindicato 22 de Octubre and say he is under investigation for alleged kidnapping, extortion, dispossession, robbery with violence and drug dealing.
- Following his capture, he was admitted to the Nezahualcóyotl penitentiary and placed at the disposal of a judge, after relatives had circulated a missing-person notice a day earlier.
- In a separate action tied to the same operation, FGJEM also arrested Juan “N”, described as a union figure with FITTAM and SUTMEX, seizing firearms while investigating alleged extortion.
- Operación Caudal began in late October with simultaneous actions in 48 municipalities that uncovered clandestine wells and taps, seized hundreds of water trucks and later returned some community wells to local control.
