State Bar Sues Daughters After Fraudulent Court Orders Freed Arizona Inmate

A new State Bar lawsuit accuses his relatives of unauthorized lawyering tied to forged release orders.

Overview

  • David Cramer was freed from ASPC-Lewis in June after prison staff relied on court filings later deemed fraudulent and was reapprehended on Aug. 20 outside his daughter’s Glendale home.
  • The Judicial Branch in Maricopa County says the judge whose name appears on the documents never signed them, and the filings were struck from the record and sealed as fictitious.
  • The State Bar complaint names Haven McQueen, Paris Cramer, Cynthia Baker and Black Canyon Enterprises PLLC, alleging they practiced law without licenses by preparing and filing the documents.
  • The Bar seeks an order halting their activities, removal of language implying they are attorneys, refunds to any customers and $2,000 civil penalties per person.
  • Court records show years of attempted fake filings tied to Cramer and associates, including a 2019 clerk’s warning and a 2018 document stamped in error, as the AG’s office, courts and DOC continue investigations.
