State Authorizes Free‑Flow Tolls on Anchieta‑Imigrantes Concession

Overview

• Ecorodovias announced Wednesday that the State of São Paulo authorised the conversion of selected toll plazas to free‑flow electronic tolling with operation scheduled to begin on August 1, 2026.
• Pórticos are already installed at Anchieta km 33 and Imigrantes km 29 and the concession aditivo specifically covers conversion of Piratininga (Imigrantes km 32) and Riacho Grande (Anchieta km 31); identification will use tags, license‑plate reading and road sensors.
• The aditivo formalises the Comboio Dinâmico project as the technology‑led replacement for the current fog convoy operation but the new convoy model still requires ARTESP approval and coordinated police protocols before physical plazas are removed.
• The contract amendment sets out guarantee mechanisms and user‑compensation rules, creates a state reserve account for risks, and recognises a present‑value economic imbalance of R$ 264.7 million tied to the changes.
• Separately, the third‑lane project continues to advance with a prior environmental licence granted in March 2026 and an executive design due to be delivered to the government soon for decisions on construction of the 21.6 km route that is mostly tunnels.
