Starting July 28, Payback Will Require PIN or Two-Step Verification for Point Redemption
Failure to update credentials will block point redemption at partner retailers.
Overview
- From July 28, Payback will disable birthdate and postal code authentication for point redemption.
- Users must instead set a personal PIN or activate two-step verification in the Payback app to redeem points.
- Failure to choose one of the new methods will block point redemption at partner retailers such as Edeka, Netto, and dm.
- Cardholders can set their PIN online or by phone and app users can enable verification under 'Services' to receive a new code every 60 seconds.
- The security update impacts only point redemption and does not change how points are collected.
