STARLUX Takes Delivery of Taiwan’s First Airbus A350-1000 in Taipei

STARLUX will introduce the new flagship on regional services before detailing long-haul routes in February.

Overview

  • The A350-1000, registered B-58551, was handed over in Toulouse on January 5, 2026 and landed at Taipei Taoyuan on January 6.
  • The delivery makes STARLUX the 11th airline to operate the A350-1000 and the first in Taiwan to field the type.
  • The jet debuts a carbon-fiber–inspired special livery with a prominent ‘1000’ and features a BMW Designworks four-class, 350-seat cabin (4 first, 40 business, 36 premium economy, 270 economy).
  • STARLUX says the aircraft will initially fly within Asia to build operational experience, with commercial service details to be announced next month.
  • STARLUX cites an order book of 18 A350-1000s with reports of five more deliveries in 2026 and further arrivals through 2031, supporting its all-Airbus, Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-powered long-haul strategy.
