Starfish Space Secures $29M for Satellite Servicing Expansion

The funding will support the development of autonomous vehicles to extend satellite lifespans and tackle space debris.

Starfish Space, founded by former Blue Origin and NASA engineers in 2019, focuses on autonomous satellite servicing vehicles.
The $29 million funding round was led by Shield Capital with participation from several venture firms including Booz Allen Ventures and Point72 Ventures.
This investment will enable the development of three Otter servicing vehicles for missions with Intelsat, the U.S. Space Force, and NASA.
Starfish has secured a $37.5 million contract with the U.S. Space Force and a $15 million mission with NASA for satellite inspection and servicing.
The Otter spacecraft is designed for satellite life extension and debris removal, aiming to make such services more affordable for operators.
