Stardew Valley's 1.6 update is nearing completion, with the developer, ConcernedApe, confirming that all major new content has been added and the game is now in the 'bug-fixing and polishing phase'.
The 1.6 update, which is expected to release in 2024, is larger in scope than initially planned, featuring a new major festival, two mini-festivals, late-game content, new items and crafting recipes, over 100 new lines of dialogue, winter outfits for villagers, and support for 8-player multiplayer on PC.
ConcernedApe recommends players to start a new save file to experience all the new content in context, although continuing from an existing save will still allow players to see most of the new content.
The update is expected to release on PC first, with the developer expressing a desire to avoid a significant delay between the PC and console/mobile versions.
Stardew Valley has sold over 10 million copies across all platforms and continues to be supported by its devoted developer.
