A $500 million 'Back to Starbucks' push will add baristas to keep service moving during the holiday surge.

Overview

  • Customers who buy a handcrafted holiday beverage on Nov. 13 will receive a 16-ounce reusable red cup at participating stores while supplies last.
  • Qualifying orders can be placed in stores, at drive-thrus, through the Starbucks app for pickup, or via delivery.
  • Starbucks says the $500 million investment will increase in-store staffing for Red Cup Day and targets an average of $30 an hour in pay and benefits for partners.
  • The holiday menu launches Nov. 6 with Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Iced Sugar Cookie Latte and Iced Gingerbread Chai, with Chestnut Praline Latte and Eggnog Latte returning later in the season.
  • This year’s cup design has not been revealed and it is unclear if last year’s reuse incentives will return, while a limited Hello Kitty merchandise collection debuts Nov. 6 in the U.S. and Canada.
