Starbucks Reopens at Universal Orlando CityWalk After Three-Month Makeover

The redesign shifts the cafe from a dark industrial look to a brighter, mural-anchored space.

Overview

  • The main CityWalk location resumed service on September 10 after closing in mid-June for refurbishment, with guests previously directed to Universal’s Great Movie Escape for coffee.
  • Interior updates replace dark metals and faux brick with pale wood finishes, soft green tones, and brighter lighting, alongside new high-back chairs and reupholstered bench seating.
  • The ordering area was rebuilt with pale wood panels and white rectangular tile, and it now features a new geometric orb light fixture in place of the prior open metal shelving.
  • Covered patio seating remains, though outdoor tables were updated to black with added gray chairs, and the exterior sign now reads “Starbucks” instead of “Starbucks Coffee.”
  • A large aquatic-themed mural by artist Mike Willcox anchors the refreshed interior and aligns the store’s look with recent design-focused updates at other high-traffic theme-district Starbucks.
