Starbucks Launches Olive Oil-Infused Oleato Drinks Nationwide
Despite Mixed Reviews, Coffee Giant Adds Unique Beverage Line to Permanent Menu
- Starbucks is launching its olive oil-infused drinks, known as the Oleato line, across all its stores in the U.S. and Canada, following a successful rollout in Italy and select U.S. locations.
- The Oleato line was inspired by former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz's experience of the Mediterranean custom of consuming a spoonful of olive oil daily during a trip to Sicily.
- The drinks, which include the Oleato Golden Foam Iced Shaken Espresso with Toffeenut and the Oleato Caffè Latte with Oatmilk, have received mixed reviews, with some customers reporting digestive issues.
- Despite the mixed reviews, Starbucks has described the launch as one of its 'biggest' in decades and the drinks will now be a permanent fixture on the menu.
- The Oleato drinks are made with Partanna extra virgin olive oil and can be customized with Oleato Golden Foam, a vanilla sweet cream cold foam infused with the olive oil.
