Overview
- Effective June 24, Starbucks will eliminate the flat 25-star bonus for customers using personal reusable cups, replacing it with double stars on the entire order.
- Under the new structure, orders under $12.50 that earn fewer than 25 stars when doubled will yield lower rewards for single-drink customers.
- Patrons who spend more than $12.50 or bring multiple reusable cups in a single transaction will earn more stars than under the previous system.
- Starbucks will maintain its existing $0.10 discount for each beverage served in a personal cup.
- As part of CEO Brian Niccol’s premium repositioning, Starbucks has cut 30% of its menu, restricted promotions and expanded reusable cup initiatives aimed at halving waste by 2030.
