The remaster will feature modern upgrades, including 4K resolution, a 120fps bump, enhanced textures, and lighting, and updated controls to fit modern controllers across all major platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
Star Wars: Dark Forces, the first Star Wars first-person shooter game, follows the story of Kyle Katarn, a mercenary turned Rebel Alliance member tasked with infiltrating the Galactic Empire's Dark Trooper Project.
The remastered version will include new features such as gyro/motion controls, rumble, a new weapon wheel, and the addition of achievements/trophies.
Originally planned for a 2023 release, the almost three-decade-old game has been remembered fondly by fans despite initially lukewarm reviews, and its revamp is eagerly anticipated.
