Stanford edges Washington in WCWS behind gem from Canady; Sooners await

Stanford defeated Washington 1-0 in an elimination game at the Women's College World Series.
Stanford’s NiJaree Canady had a brilliant performance, allowing only one hit.
Stanford scored the only run of the game in the sixth inning due to an unearned run and a throwing error by UW catcher Sydney Stewart.
UW's Ruby Meylan also had a great performance, allowing only one unearned run.
Stanford advanced to face Oklahoma, winners of 50 straight games, in the semifinals.
