- Addressing the School Education Department’s Mupperum Vizha in Chennai, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin cautioned that students should not grow dependent on Google or AI and must understand the difference between human thought and technology.
- He called on teachers to cultivate reasoning by encouraging students to ask why and how, teach civic sense, and instill values such as honesty, equality, and social justice while guarding against caste and gender bias.
- Stalin urged educators to go beyond textbooks, be role models, and prioritize students’ mental and physical health by avoiding undue pressure and communicating with patience.
- The government marked the event by laying foundation stones for new buildings in 243 schools at an estimated cost of ₹277 crore and inaugurating facilities worth ₹94 crore in 59 schools across multiple districts.
- The programme also included support measures such as ₹10,000 cheques for 142 students who scored full marks in Tamil, alongside training for newly appointed teachers.
