Overview

• At a July 2 ceremony in Chennai, the HR&CE Department organised free weddings for 32 couples, bringing the four-year total to 2,376.
• The department conducted consecration rituals at 3,177 temples and recovered 7,655.75 acres of encroached temple land.
• Survey operations have covered 2.03 lakh acres, with renovation works under way at 26,000 temples and ₹425 crore earmarked for more than 1,000-year-old sites.
• Repair approvals have been granted for 12,876 temples and the Oru Kaala Poojai fund corpus has increased to ₹2.5 lakh, benefiting over 18,000 temples.
• Inclusive appointments include 29 priests and 46 Othuvars across castes, and the government now provides monthly honorariums and scholarships for their families.
