Overview

  • Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the camps on August 2, marking rollout in all 38 districts after initial launches in Chennai and Nagapattinam.
  • Each camp features specialists from over 15 departments offering on-site diagnostics—blood tests, ECG, X-ray, ultrasound and cancer screenings—at no cost.
  • A state-level committee led by the Chief Secretary oversees implementation alongside district collectors, integrating bar-coded samples into Health Management Information Systems.
  • Priority beneficiaries include residents over 40 at risk of non-communicable diseases, as well as pregnant and lactating women, children, tribal populations and the differently abled.
  • The government has petitioned the Madras High Court to allow the scheme’s naming after the sitting Chief Minister, with a hearing expected on Monday.
