Stalin Launches 25 ‘Anbucholai’ Senior Centres, Kicks Off Rs 767-Crore Pudukkottai Works

The centres provide daytime care offering meals, health monitoring, activities for seniors.

  • Tamil Nadu inaugurated 25 Anbucholai day-care facilities for the elderly on November 10, with M.K. Stalin opening a centre at Ponmalai in Tiruchi.
  • The rollout, budgeted at about Rs 10 crore, covers two centres each in ten municipal corporations, three in Chennai, and additional sites in Krishnagiri and Ranipet.
  • Centres function as community hubs with reading areas, yoga, indoor games, counselling, physiotherapy, nutritious refreshments, and routine health checks coordinated by Social Welfare and Health departments.
  • Stalin laid the foundation stone for Pudukkottai development projects valued at roughly Rs 767 crore at Mookambigai College of Engineering in Keeranur and also inaugurated completed works.
  • Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin honoured 200 elderly couples at Sri Parthasarathy Temple in Triplicane under a budgeted welfare scheme, with similar felicitations held for hundreds more elsewhere.
